VaultDL (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a mobile application that helps you download videos from supported platforms such as YouTube and Facebook for personal offline use on your device. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app processes, how it is used, and your choices. By installing or using VaultDL, you agree to this policy.

1. Summary

• VaultDL does not require an account and does not operate its own user database or cloud storage for your downloads.
• Most data stays on your device (download history, preferences, downloaded files).
• We use third-party services for crash reporting, analytics, and advertising, as described below.
• We do not collect your name, phone number, address, or payment information.

2. Information We Collect and Process

2.1 Information you provide

• URLs and shared links — When you paste or share a link into VaultDL, the app uses that URL to detect and download media. URLs are processed to fulfill your request and are not transmitted to our own servers.
• Download preferences — Choices such as video quality and storage location are stored locally on your device.

2.2 Information stored on your device

• Download history and library metadata — Titles, file paths, thumbnails, resolution, and timestamps are stored locally using on-device storage (including a local database).
• App settings and quota usage — Daily download limits, bonus downloads, onboarding status, and related preferences are stored locally.
• Downloaded media files — Videos you download are saved to storage locations you choose on your device.

2.3 Information collected automatically

• Crash and diagnostic data (Firebase Crashlytics) — If the app crashes or encounters certain errors, we may receive anonymous diagnostic information such as stack traces, device model, operating system version, app version, and custom diagnostic keys (for example, build type and SDK level). This helps us identify and fix bugs.
• Analytics data (Firebase Analytics) — Google Firebase may automatically collect limited usage and device information (such as app opens, session data, and general device characteristics) to help us understand how the app is used and improve stability. We do not use analytics to identify you personally.
• Advertising data (Google AdMob) — When ads are displayed, Google AdMob may collect and process information in accordance with Google’s policies, which may include device identifiers, IP address, ad interaction data, and approximate location derived from IP. AdMob is used to support the free version of the app through banner and rewarded video ads.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

• Fetch video metadata and perform downloads you request;
• Save files to your chosen storage location and display them in your library;
• Enforce daily download limits and rewarded bonus downloads;
• Show download progress and completion notifications;
• Diagnose crashes, improve performance, and fix bugs;
• Understand general app usage through analytics;
• Display advertisements that support the free version of VaultDL.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not operate backend servers that store your downloads or account data. Information may be shared only in these circumstances:

• Third-party platforms — When you submit a link, the app contacts the relevant platform (for example, YouTube or Facebook) to retrieve publicly available media information needed for your download. Those platforms process requests under their own terms and privacy policies.
• Service providers — We use Google Firebase (Crashlytics and Analytics) and Google AdMob. These providers process data on our behalf according to their own privacy policies.
• Legal requirements — We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.

5. Third-Party Services

VaultDL relies on the following third-party services:

• YouTube / Google — Media metadata and streaming sources when you submit supported links.
• Facebook / Meta — Media metadata when you submit supported Facebook links.
• yt-dlp — Open-source extraction engine that runs on your device.

VaultDL is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube, Google, Facebook, or Meta. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you interact with through the app.

6. Permissions

VaultDL may request the following device permissions:

• Internet — To detect links, download media, load ads, and send crash/analytics data.
• Network state — To check connectivity before downloads.
• Storage / media access — To save downloaded files and display them in your library.
• Notifications — To show download progress and completion alerts.
• Foreground service — To continue downloads reliably while the app is in the background.

You can deny permissions in your device settings, but some features may not work correctly without them.

7. Data Retention

• On your device — Downloaded files, history, and app preferences remain until you delete them or uninstall VaultDL.
• Crash and analytics data — Retained by Google Firebase according to Google’s retention policies and your device settings.
• Advertising data — Handled and retained by Google AdMob according to Google’s policies.

8. Data Security

We use reasonable measures to protect information handled by the app and its service providers. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. You are responsible for securing your device and any files you download.

9. Children’s Privacy

VaultDL is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

10. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your information, including the right to access, correct, or delete certain data.

• Local app data — You can clear download history and remove files from your device at any time. Uninstalling the app removes locally stored app data.
• Advertising — You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of personalized ads in your Android device settings (Google → Ads).
• Analytics and diagnostics — You may limit analytics collection through your device’s privacy settings where available.

11. International Data Transfers

Third-party providers such as Google may process data on servers located outside your country. When you use VaultDL, your information may be transferred to and processed in countries with different data protection laws. 12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective date” at the top of this page. The latest version is also available inside the app under Settings → Privacy Policy. Continued use of VaultDL after changes means you accept the updated policy.
